Software Engineer, Intern (Paid)

Legacy Tech is looking for a Software Engineer Intern. 

As a software engineer, you will be tasked with working with a team to develop specialized software and/or applications.  Our software engineers operate in autonomous teams and you will be assigned to a team based on personality and interest matching (i.e. we do not assign you to a team of people you don't like, and you will not be assigned to banking software if you are interested in gaming). This positions allows for a majority of work to be remote using company issued hardware.  As an intern, you can work between 10 and 40 hours a week but you may be required to attend team meetings once a week.  Legacy Tech provides a unique learning opportunity because we emphasize personal growth and development in a variety of ways and make your professional evolution a priority.

Tasks you will be performing include:

  1. Engineering projects can include data visualization, web services, data engineering, web portals, SDKs, integrations;

  2. Participate in the entire cycle of software engineering;

  3. Perform AGILE software development methodology;

  4. Write high-quality and well-tested code, of an object-oriented and/or functional nature.

  5. Work with team to investigate design approaches and evaluate technical feasibility.

Qualifications:

  1. Candidate should be familiar with one or more of the following: Java, J2EE, Python, database development, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, PHP, C++, web development, UI design, Android/IOS development, or one or more cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure);

  2. Enrolled in or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field;

  3. Experience with at least one programming language

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with at least one database management system;

  2. Experience writing code in Java, Python, SQL

Education/Experience: Enrolled in or a recent graduate (within 12 months) of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
