Software Engineer, Team Lead

Legacy Tech is looking for a Software Engineer Team Lead. 

As a Team Lead, you will be tasked with leading a team of three to seven programmers to develop specialized software and/or applications.  Our software engineers operate in autonomous teams and you will have take part in selection of whom gets placed on your team and what projects your team takes part in.  The Lead will have full control over the planning, development, and rollout of the software and will work with the Quality Assurance team as needed, to develop the full solution stack.  You will also be responsible for collaborating with the client on project goals, updating the client on progress, and listening to the client on likes and dislikes, until the project is completed in full.  On project completion, the Team Lead is privy to a bonus based on the project funding.

This position allows for a majority of work to be remote using company issued hardware.

Tasks you will be performing include:

  1. Engineering projects can include data visualization, web services, data engineering, web portals, SDKs, integrations; and gaming;

  2. Lead a small team through the entire cycle of software engineering;

  3. Perform AGILE software development methodology;

  4. Stringently check your teams work and ensure quality of the highest degree and consistent documentation;

  5. Set deadlines for the team and ensure that they are consistently met.

Qualifications:

  1. Candidate should be familiar with three to five (or more) of the following: Java, J2EE, Python, database development, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, PHP, C++, web development, UI design, Android/IOS development, or one or more cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure);

  2. Seven-plus (7+) years of hands-on software engineering experience in consumer and/or enterprise software;

  3. Three-plus (3+) years of leading a software engineering team using an agile development process;

  4. Experience across a full tech stack (WAMP, WIMP, WINS, Etc.).

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Extensive Python knowledge;

  2. Experience with 'big data' and [advanced] data analytics;

  3. Knowledge of software security methods and procedures.

Education/Experience: B.S. in Computer Science or related field and seven years of software development experience OR M.S. in Computer Science or related field and five years of software development experience OR ten years of software development experience, at least four of those years in a Lead role.
